Client who went on the "Highlights of Italy - Rome, Florence, Pisa & Venice" tourDear Riviera Tours Travel Team,
We would like to submit these comments from our recent tour.
There are two things that made this a five-star tour, Riviera and the Tour Director. The tour was well organized and professional managed. We cannot praise the Tour Director enough as they were simply fantastic. Every day they continued to inform us on all the details of what we were about to encounter, gave us detail maps and gave us suggestions to make our tour to best ever. I don’t think there could be a better director anywhere. All the hotels were great as well as the transportation. The tour exceeded all of our expectations. One of the major highlights was the trip to Assisi. We would have never thought to see this city if we were planning the trip ourselves. This was our first group tour and overall it was a wonderful experience. I cannot recommend this tour enough, a first class tour that has no negatives. We look forward to our next tour with Riviera.
Thank You,
Client who went on the "Highlights of England" tourThanks for providing this delightful tour for my enjoyment. The accommodations and the associated service and dining facilities were always of a high standard.
Having been an Anglophile and student of English history for many, many years this was the perfect tour for my first visit to England. I enjoyed the selection of tour stops which was obviously very well considered, including the substitution of the trip upriver to see Hampton Court instead of Kensington Palace. The colorful Tudors deserved the attention. I cannot imagine a finer tour guide. They combined an affable and entertaining personality with an extensive knowledge of the places and the flavor of the places visited. He was always ready to answer or research any question that came up regarding English history, geography, or sociology. Importantly to me, he kept good humor when I occasionally had the impertinence to correct him. More importantly, in turn, he was not afraid to gently correct me when I was off a bit. the guide’s sidekick, the driver, was also a wonderful, complementary (not complimentary) personality. I am sure I will be contacting Riviera Tours in the future for other trips I wish to take.
Client who went on the "Highlights of England" tourMy wife and I, recently returned from your highlights of England Tour. We just wanted to express how thoroughly we enjoyed the trip. In particular we want to commend both your guide and your driver. Together they both made the Trip. The tour director’s depth of historical knowledge, sense of humor and general people skills (including patience) were a real asset. The driver being an experienced guide in his own right plus his always cheerful, helpful and patient disposition added greatly to the trip as well.
Well done Riviera and kudos for selecting excellent staff for the trip.
Client who went on the "Highlights of England" tourMy wife and I would like to thank Riviera Tours for making our wedding anniversary trip to England very special. The experience was a very positive one and things could not have gone smoother and without effort on our part. Our tour manager and guide, was personable, informative and efficient. He and our driver were a lot of fun too! We hope to tour again with you in the future.
Client who went on the "Classic Italy - Rome, Florence, Tuscany, Venice & Lake Como" tourJust returned back home after spending an incredible 12 days touring Italy with our Riviera group. Our tour director, was outstanding. We all appreciated their keen intelligence and enjoyed their wonderful sense of humor. They wanted each of us to have a positive experience and went out of their way to be helpful and quick to respond to all our concerns. They provided us with a wealth of background information wherever we went and was always there to remind us about our itinerary and prepare us for the times we were on our own. For one thing, they went out of their way to teach us how to use the public transportation.
One of our favorite memories of the tour was the gondola ride in Venice, which the tour director arranged for us on our free day. Though this was not on the itinerary, he was able to schedule rides for 12 of us at a reasonable price.
The background tours with local guides in Rome, Siena, Florence and Verona were interesting and especially helpful when we were on our own in these cities. They provided us with information on sites we might like to visit. Also, on our first day in Rome, our guide taught us how to cross the busy Roman streets with confidence. A very useful skill.
The group meals were delicious, too, especially our dinner at the charming La Taverna degli Amici in Rome, La Bottega in Tuscany, and our tour and wine-tasting lunch at Castello di Verrazzano. That was so much fun. The scheduled group dinners at our four hotels were also excellent.
The day we toured the winery and had lunch at Castello di Verrazzano, visited San Gimignano, and ended our day with dinner up in the hills at La Bottega was full of good experiences but was a bit long, and we were exhausted by the time we got back to our hotel in Siena late that evening. It might be good to rethink the schedule for that day.
All in all, we had a wonderful trip. A major plus was getting to know the other members of our small group. We would certainly consider another trip with Riviera.
